I have seen Doctor Mitchell for years, having followed him from a previous practice because his detailed and thoughtful exams, time for discussion and questions, and excellent chairside manner are worth driving for. This was exemplified last winter. I spent almost three months with a crushing daily headache, complete with light sensitivity such that I had to wear sunglasses inside and which nothing affected. I finally realized that even though I could not discern a visual change, Doctor Mitchell would pay careful attention and investigate. He told me that my eyes weren’t working in tandem and suggested that I get new glasses to address it, which may resolve my headaches. The person who greets you on the phone and in the office is very sweet and friendly (we had some good laughs too). The gal who did my initial eye test was also very sweet, knowledgeable and thorough. Then there’s Dr Morgan McClintic-  incredibly bright, very reassuring and went beyond to formulate a plan for me.  I cannot say enough about this office and this Doctor! When I had an issue that I was really concerned about, they got me in same-day, even though I wasn’t an established patient with them. They were very thorough with their testing, found out what the issue was, and put me on the path to correct it. They were extremely kind and sweet to me, which really meant a lot. This morning was my first appointment with the practice.  Everything was communicated well prior to the appointment and they had all the information needed before I arrived.  I was greeted promptly and all staff was polite, attentive and friendly.  The facility is very clean, spacious and has comfortable seating both in the waiting area and in the rooms used for examinations and consulting.  State of the art examinations and explanations for everything being done.  Questions were welcomed and I was given the time needed to comprehend information and make decisions.  I highly recommend going to Mad River Eye Care for your optical exams and eye care needs. They have a wonderful variety of eyewear to fit all kinds of preferences. The Mad River Eye Care practice is everything you could hope for in an eye clinic. Judy, at the front desk, is warm and welcoming and found a way to fit me in so I could address a problem I was having. Jessica who did my initial eye exam explained everything that was doing and patiently listened as I explained my problems.  And finally, Dr. Morgan McClintic is the BEST eye doctor I have ever had and I am old!  She was patient and thorough and did many tests to ensure that my eye issues were addressed and then fully explained to me why I was having issues.  She far exceeded any expectations I could have.  I only wish that all of my doctors were as professional, skilled and caring as she is.  Did I mention that the cost was also extremely reasonable?  Can't thank them enough.

I had an absolutely wonderful experience at Mad River Eye Care today & will be recommending them to everyone!! After being dismissed two years ago at another optometrist when I told them, repeatedly, that the new contacts were blurry, I spent the last two years with excruciating headaches and blurry vision. When I shared why I was there, Mad River Eye Care  said, "Let's get to the bottom of this!" And they did. They were thorough, thoughtful, kind and patient. I'm an artist. My eyesight is my living... And our eyesight is no small thing. To walk in a room and not be able to see people's facial expressions, to live rural and not be able to drive at night. It was awful. I felt like my world was getting smaller by the day. I had been fighting depression for the past two years because of my situation. But today, my whole life changed. I was so comfortable the second I walked in the door! The lady at the front desk was so kind and willing to help me. The second person i saw made my anxiety go down a lot more by letting me know everything she was doing before she did it! I was very anxious as this was my first eye exam ever. The doc was absolutely amazing as well and was very knowledgeable on what she was doing. The optician helped me pick out the perfect pair of glasses, and was very helpful in making that decision. The office is quiet and comfortable. Dr. McClintic is a wonderful optometrist. She answered my questions and was patient with me. The entire staff here is kind and welcoming. Ciere described each of the tests to me and has great manner with clients. When I picked my frames, Lisa the optical manager quickly helped me fill a tray with potential options to try on. By far the best eye doctor experience I’ve had over 30 years. Staff were delightful, space was clean, bright, efficient with the newest technology (no more puffs of air or eye drops!) and Dr. McClintic was the most personable OD I’ve met. Dr Mitchell and his staff are absolutely wonderful and professional. Went in for an eye exam and a new prescription. The office is very clean , well lit and inviting . Everyone including the receptionist are so friendly, kind and patient. Very advanced technology in this office . Dr Mitchell was patient , thorough and went above and beyond to make sure my prescription was accurate. He answered all my questions and made me feel very comfortable with the eye exam . I would definitely recommend anyone to to this office for your vision needs . I'd even go as far as to say this was the best experience I've ever had at an optometrist office. Dr. Mitchell is a top tier eye doctor! I have seen several eye doctors over the past few years due to an eye issue and can confidently say Dr. Mitchell is exceptional.
